Coastal Sensory Journey

Slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience the landscape through the senses.

A 3.5 Hour Guided Experience

Set along the stunning coastal landscapes of the Tomaree Head and Kingsley Beaches, the Coastal Sensory Journey is a slow, guided morning immersion designed to awaken the senses, deepen presence, and reconnect participants to land, body, and breath.

Moving through diverse ecosystems, from headlands to eucalypt and paperbark forests, and onto secluded beaches, guests engage in mindful walking, gentle movement, breathwork, kriya, sensory exploration, and journaling.

Optional blindfolded exercises heighten awareness of touch, sound, smell, taste, and sight, creating a fully embodied experience. Throughout the journey, facilitators Mark and Tammy guide participants with care, safety, and respect for Country, encouraging stillness, reflection, and a profound connection to the natural environment.

Participants leave feeling grounded, refreshed, and emotionally and physically renewed, carrying a deeper sense of presence, clarity, and connection to both themselves and the Port Stephens coastline.

The Journey Flow

Guests meet at Iris Moore Lookout, where facilitators welcome them, guide grounding, and set the intention for a slow, sensory journey. A brief circle introduces participants and encourages presence, reflection, and gentle transition from “doing” to “being.”

ARRIVAL & ORIENTATION

The group moves mindfully across the open coastal headland into shaded eucalypt woodland. Participants are invited to notice the wind, birdsong, textures of the earth, and the scents of the forest, cultivating spaciousness, awareness, and connection with the landscape.

HEAD&WOODLAND WALK

Entering the softer, enclosed paperbark forest, guests slow their pace to explore filtered light, layered textures, and the forest floor. Guided prompts encourage reflection on resilience, transitions, and rootedness in both body and mind.

PAPERBARK FOREST

At the secluded beach, participants engage in optional blindfolded exercises, breathwork, and journalling. The sensory exploration heightens awareness of touch, sound, smell, taste, and sight, fostering a deep sense of presence and integration with nature.

BEACH SENSORY IMMERSION

The journey concludes with a light snack, informal reflection, and group connection at Kingsley Beach. Guests are then transported back to Iris Moore Reserve, leaving the experience grounded, refreshed, and deeply connected to both self and the coastal environment
